Slide, Vic Gundotra & The Un-Social Reality of Google

[T]he social web is moving toward a future where serendipity replaces search.

According to Compete.com, Facebook recently became the top source of traffic to major sites such as Yahoo and MSN, surpassing Google. Hitwise said that Facebook is the fourth leading traffic driver to news sites.

Wow! Facebook continues to urge users toward more openness b/c it wants to compete with Google on search.

Initial launch allows you to search back to February, 2010, but soon you will be able to search every public tweet that’s ever been tweeted.  Interesting that Google is launching this, and not Twitter.

Browser Size: a tool to see how others view your website

Google just introduced Browser Size (sounds like a Richard Simmons routine, no?), which allows you to see what percentage of your site is visible to visitors without scrolling. This would be very helpful if you are trying to decide where to place a call to action on your site.
